To prepare for a blood test, follow your doctor's instructions carefully. You may need to fast, avoiding eating or drinking anything except water, for 9-12 hours before the test. Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, chewing gum, and strenuous exercise if you're fasting. If not fasting, avoid alcohol and fatty foods to feel your best on the day of the test. Ensure you get plenty of sleep to make your veins more accessible for the blood draw. On the day of the test, stay hydrated, but avoid coffee and caffeinated drinks. If you're not required to fast, eat a light meal 1-2 hours prior to the test to prevent lightheadedness. Wear short sleeves for easy access to your arm and arrive early to complete any necessary paperwork. Bring your insurance card and ID and consider taking a small snack for after the appointment.
Sunshine Mobile Phlebotomy LLC provides a comprehensive selection of blood tests, such as complete blood count (CBC), lipid panel, metabolic panel, thyroid panel, and tests for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
The hemoglobin A1C test is a blood test that determines the average level of blood sugar over the previous two to three months. It's utilized for the diagnosis and management of diabetes.
A lipid panel test is a type of blood test that assesses levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. It helps in determining the risk of heart disease.
The thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test is a blood examination that determines the concentration of TSH in the bloodstream. It serves to assess thyroid activity and identify thyroid-related health conditions.
